A NEW SHOW, A NEW ALBUM, A NEW CHAPTER

Hey everyone!

Jared here. You may have seen the announcement for our next show, “Chrome Rhino’s Last Stand” - and are wondering - “in the name of all that is sacred, what’s going on?” then perhaps you then walk slowly to the window, exhaling deeply as one hand grasps at your furrowed brow. In a shaken voice, you whisper:

“…Is this the end of Chrome Rhino?”

The short answer is no.

But it’s definitely the end of an era. At the end of July, I’ll be moving with my fiancee to Charlottesville, VA. So what does that mean for the Rhino?

First, our shows in Phoenix will be fewer and further between. I plan on flying out regularly so we can continue to do at least a couple shows in Phoenix a year. We’re already on board for Wayne Fest in November, and we may be planning another headlining show around that time (wink wink).

As well as that - we are planning on branching out. Travis and James have connections in Virginia - and we plan to hit the ground running on the east coast ASAP. For that matter, when I’m back west, we want to get back out to Tucson, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas! Maybe even work up a fun show with Rachel (A Casual Divorce) in Chicago?

Also, before I leave town, we’re beginning work on recording album 3! You may have heard a few new songs peppered in throughout the last few shows we’ve played - we’ve got the majority of the album written! We hit the studio in July to get it started - stay tuned.

I’m extremely excited about the new music - it combines the whimsy of the first album with the darkness of the second. It’s macabre, theatrical, and eclectic - with a surprising amount of influence from both doo-wop and metal (I promise you, it works!)

There is even talk about a cross band collaboration with one of our favorite Phoenix bands! So rest assured, we’re setting things in motion to continue moving forward as a group regardless of where I’m living. The whole band agrees that our new music is our best yet, and we can’t wait to share it with you all!

I’m looking forward to seeing all of you AZ folks on July 18th! Come see the last show of this chapter of the Rhino - I’d love to hang out with all of you one more time before heading east.

I’m so proud of everything we’ve done with this band over the past (almost) six years, and I can’t wait to celebrate with y’all!
